2893 & 2277 Seaforth Highlanders of Canada
These were our busiest years with cadets.
Matt transfered from the Westminster Rgt., to the Seaforth Cadet Corps in fall of 2004. Here he learned bagpiping, drill, orienteering, shooting, biathlon and much more. He was pipe major of the cadet band in his later years there and aged out as RSM in 2008.
Robert joined Seaforth in fall of 2004 at age 12. He learned shooting, biathlon, orienteering, and snare drum in the cadet band. He became drum Sgt in the band before transferring to 2277 Corps in Langley.
Both Matt and Robert got to travel to Scotland with the Corps! They also were awarded National (Matt) and Regional (Robert) expeditions as well at Legion metals, and Robert received the Strathcona award.
During the 2893 years, we took a massive amount of photos and video. So much so, that I started “2893 Gallery” which was housed on my old website. We kept it running until about 2012. I have decided to put the majority of it back online, mainly our own media, but the few from others were shared to us with permission.
The Seaforth 100 event was a major event held by the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Regiment 72nd Corps. It celebrates 100 years of the Corps. Robert was one of the cadets selected tp participate in the event. He also participated in the 2010 Olympics opening act with about a 1000 other students.
